The Revenue stamp is the Autobiography of the famous poet and Novelist.

One day khushvant singh told to her in comic way what is in your life. Your life can be describe write in revenue stamp. which is back side of postcard. 

 

Amrita belongs to punjabi family and there in her family Muslims were not allowed. But she  was very rebellious from childhood. she strictly behave with her grandmother. then there was changed tradition.
she was married to pritam singh. Because of her free thought , she became separate from her husband. then she come in touch with sahir ludhiyanvi. She fall in love with him very deeply.
Sahir ludhiyanvi is very famous song writer in bollywood.  But they didn't live with each other. so, amrita spent her life with Emroz.  Emroz  was very simple and taking care of her. 
Amrita pritam was victim or witness of partition. During that time she came across with sajjad. Sajjad was her Good or best friend.  he was also her part of life.
In this way amrita mentioned all four make character with whom she was heartly connected. she described sahir ludhiyanvi in her novel.
Sahir ludhiyanvi had an habit of smoking and amrita likes its smell and so when sahir left that place and put there half cigarette in ash tray than amrita collects it and she smokes. In this way she cultivated that habit of smoking.
it is also came information in news paper article that she was in depression while she heard about news of sahir ludhiyanvi's affair with someone.
in this way she suffer a lot for sahir.
its really touched my heart. Thank you.

 In this book mafatlal patel had analysed on Freud, kafka , Edgar alan poe and  Carl hung. in this book patel remarks on the mental illness of writer and reader.
- Mafatlal patel compares child's mind , Criminal's mind ,and writer's mind.  He says when child playing with something , he plays fully. He plays like there is nothing around him, Him , as well writer sit for writing he fully concentration on his work.
-when writer wrote something he presents all the side of situation. positive and nagative too. when protagonist traped by someone , how that trap is created and he save himself. how he findout the way , it is all mind power of writer.
- patel give other Remark that When our desires , our wish we can't fulfill because of face fear of society we satisfy our wish by Reading writing or watching. And so, writer gain great pleasure by writing and Reader also get interest in reading That work.
- Freud research was on human mind. and so he wrote that writer like Shakespear , who are very famous were very famous were suffering from mental illness. Because of their illness they can write great tragedy or drama etc..
- Patel  mentions here Edgar Alan poe. we all are also familiar with poe. His short stories all are written on the mental disorder people. who suffers from mental illness and does some crime.

mafatlal patel giving two remarks here that
why writer very firstly release truth that all the characters of story are imigibative.
1) Because when writer wrote character he give his totality but may be he can not give that character morality.
2)And reader is so weak so he unable to understand that this character are not suffering in reality. They are just described or are doing acting.

- patel tell the story in referance of impact of literature and sex on society. there is one Eunan story. that in old days there were no different gender. but angry god make them diffrent.
and so Swinburn give his view that why there is attraction between different Gender.  
D. H. Lawrence says that Sex and beuty are similar. who hates the sex will be also  hater of  the beauty.  and because of suppression of beauty and sex there is so many rape cases and crimes are done.
this all things are represented by patel.

In this way patel make me force to think that we all are very interested in Reading and most of public are influenced to writing and all are suffering from disease.    
in short this book is very interesting for the people who love to study human mind and human psychology.

'Walden' book review

Here i would like to share my review about the book 'Walden' written by Henry David Thoreu which i read in September. It is First published in  1854.

it translated in Gujrati by Sundarji betai.

it is not any novel or short stories collection but it is a collection of david's personal diary. which he wrote during he living near the walden.  very firstly i would like to say that walden is not any person's name but it A name pond which is situated near the Concord, Massachusetts. He went there for two years. and what he feel day by day he wrote down.
David living very simply there. no facilities he wants to use. he ownself decided that he won't eat nonvege. and he started farming around the cabin which he build and where he lived for two year.
- He asks us that if person starts to work by his ownself than he will not suffer a lot. he is giving all d count that what he need during that living.  he also mentions students of America that Students paying lots of fees for living yet they don't get Good house or room. instead of paying them they should build their own cabin. this book is written in 18th century it means at that time students situation were same. Here i would remark that david saying one should start building his own house or cabin i think there is no extra large space where students can also build their own cabin. or no students can live in jungle because there is no facilities of Education in jungle.
- than david telling about spirituality. and also presented his high thinking of Existentialism. he   had wrote shloks of 'GIta'. and followed it.
He said that he started to living as nonvegetarian. but its too difficult to live without nonveg . he described one incident about that when he was returning from jungle to his cabin it was late night and he was too much hungry. and there he saw one bird named "wood chuck' he wanted it to Eat withot cook. but he controlled himself. he thought about living being. he don't want to kill anyone.
- in this way he wanted us to tell that a human can live without luxury.
           This book is very lengthy. when we read it we like how monotonously action are repeated .
we feel that its gum type of book. i face too much trouble to finish it because it doesn't  provide any interesting story.
But when we go through whole the chapters and line by line ...we feel that....be wrote 4 or 5 line and than he applied his high thought.  Normally people can't understand it.

He retur from Walden in September 1847.. and his second year was same.
